Hi,  I’m Drew!

I am a non-techy who found his way to a career in tech. Not on purpose, and not because I sought it out. Actually it kind of sought me out?!

I have been known to wear a lot of hats, Business Analyst, Change Manager, Trainer, Service Designer, Team Lead, and Practice Lead, and each of those has helped me on my way to the 'Head of Business Change and Design' role that I do today.

I wanted to start the BA Project to provide a place for anyone who wants to find their way to a career in tech regardless of their background, education, or experience. To create a community made of people who genuinely want to support and champion each other, free from prejudice or politics. To find and support a group of people who are willing to lend a hand to someone on their journey.

I didn’t have that, many don't - my first BA role was filled with pre-workshop anxiety, imposter syndrome, and a general feeling of dread every time someone threw yet another acronym at me. (It took a while to learn the power of 'I don't know'!!)

The BA Project is exciting for so many reasons. We are not tied to a corporate overlord. We are not targeted at selling you 'X' amount of memberships under the guise of engagement.  We are not limited by the policies of parent organisations and both myself and my co-founders each had wildly different journeys to a career in Tech, where now every day we try to demonstrate the value that non-technical people bring to solving business problems through digital (and non-digital) solutions.

Most of all, I am excited because I get to do this with my friends. Who wouldn't want to do good things supporting people who deserve it alongside the people who have helped you?
