Knowledge is power.

We wanted to save you the hassle of trawling the internet to find the best voices to help you on your journey, so we did it for you!

This is a collection of people and places the team at The BA Project recommends that you check out. This list is our own, based on things we like that we think others might like, too.

If there are others you think need to be on this list, please reach out to us via our contact page to let us know!

  • Hamish is a triple threat of Consultant/Coach/Director at apprising.co.nz. He is a Microsoft Power Platform specialist with a huge focus on use centric requirements management. Hamish provides coaching for individuals and teams through apprising but the blog alone is worth your time, It is SO good.

It’s written with no assumptions of the reader (good man, Hamish - breaking down those barriers to entry!), it provides free resources AND has visual and narrative examples of core BA artifacts like journey maps, process diagrams and user stories.

We like Hamish’s approach to communication, we are big fans of his easy to consume, written in plain English, practical resource library!

Follow Hamish on Linkedin for regular content on both Microsoft and Requirements management.

  • Analytique is the brain child of South African Principal Business Analyst Ash Forster. Analytique shares a lot of common themes with TBAP - it aims to support the Business Analysis community through education and engagement and its founder comes from a background in BA and Design thinking, and they value representation. Ash talks openly and proudly about being a woman in a male dominated arena that wants to inspire other young people (male and female alike) to find their place in our community.

Anaytique is great becuase Ash is so pasionate and genuine, and this pours out of every single piece of content.

You don’t have to take our word for it, you can keep up to date with what Analytique shares by following them here!

  • Now, you might not be all too surprised to hear that there are BA thought leaders out there that may or may not be accused of being a little stiff, overly scripted, all out cringy or just a really poor representation of the majority.

If there is an antithesis of this, it is would undoubtably be Bronia Anderson-Kelly (former UK BA finalist of the year)

Bronia is both authentic and careful with her messaging all at the same time. Shes is funny and all the while takes the time to look at the human element of Business Analysis.

Follow Bronia for great Business Analysis content, and for an opportunity to have some positivity on your timeline as you scroll through the noise.

  • This is one for our Microsoft friends!

Neil over at customery.com is a Microsoft MVP (Every year since 2010), his podcast Amazing Apps podcast is appropriately named and we know people first hand that have taken massive amounts away from his online courses over the years.

Neil Benson is a SCRUM specialist as well as being an all knowing Microsoft advocate! So if being tied down to one platform isn’t for you, don’t sweat it. For us, Neil’s insights, passion and deep knowledge of stakeholder management is why you should follow him and check out him out over at Customery!

  • Laura Brandenburg is an impressive woman of many talents, CBAP, Trainer, Author, Investor and CEO.

Laura runs Bridging The Gap, an organisation that aims to educate both the BA’s of today and tomorrow.

We Love Laura’s empahtetic style and how she drives communty dicussion through her Linkedin page and seeks out community input to help make Bridging the Gap courses better.

At Briging the gap prospective Business Analysts can take advantage of a completely free workshop to help get you set up for sucess, we love this!

You can keep up to date wth Laura by following her here!

  • Clearly we love the Southern Hemisphere here at TBAP!

When you land on ameyholden.comm you are greeted with the message:

‘A dedicated ABC enthusiast (Anything But Code)’.

If that doesn’t win your heart immediately!

Amey is a former Customery Experience specilaist who just so happens to be a pretty great source of Microsoft insights. Amey is so focused on the user and the role of the SME, we love that she sees the value of investment of the people side of digital change.

Amey’s blog is more functional than business orientated, and if you like getting your hands dirty and configuring those requirements then this is for you. You can subscribe to Amey’s blog here, and follow her personal page here.
